Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • NO 147 on VW AU Website

Not sure if I missed this but looking today I cannot see a 147/2.0 TSi listed on the VW website:

Jetta variants < Jetta < Models & Pricing < Volkswagen Australia

Firstly 147TSI was phased out maybe two model years ago for the 155TSI.

As VW is now building a new EA888 petrol engine family in Mexico we will eventually see this Mexican made engine come to our shores in certain models.

I think we won't have a 155TSI until the 2015 Jetta is launched.

Frankly I'd be more excited if they were building a new DSG gearbox to replace the DQ200.

While I heard that they are researching 9 and 10 speed DSG I'm pretty sure the DQ200 is going to be around for another 5 years at least.

Also there is now a 118TSi and TDi Highline, which is a Comfortline with partial sportpack (no tint), sports seats with part leather but no heating, but most importantly satnav and rear camera.

No mention of this new model grade on VW website either, but they're cropping up on carsales...
