I think intercooler should be done before the intake. Reason being was even though the intake temp changed based on the intake installed the intake manifold temp after the turbo and intercooler didn't change that much. When I get time I will post the data recorded.

Considering that some intakes cost as much as an intercooler I think the intercooler would have a bigger impact. Funny enough I have an S3 intercooler in my bedroom waiting to be installed. Based on time hopefully I get the courage to install it myself and will post the info here.

I would be really interested in that, if you did it. An APR Stage 1 ECU tune would be effective but still suffer from power drops in the hot days (it's 36C here today and the difference is noticeable after driving at 11.30 last night at 21C). That's why I'm leaning towards the intercooler and CAI before the ECU tune.

Bought my 1.4TSI APR intake a week ago as well. They don't come with supporting bracket apparently according to Harding Performance. One of my intake holes was also misaligned (so was the OP's) I guess that's just an hardware issue when they drilled the holes? Was going to install it myself but took the intake back and they drilled and installed it for me with no fee (normally $100 to install). U can definitely hear the difference in the sound of the turbo when you do decided to push the foot down and then release it. Can be really loud if you do it right on the spot. Not so noticeable on the performance increase or throttle response after installation but it sounds nice and that was good enough for me.
