Its the coupe version of the new Jetta isn't it? So its based on the MK 6 Golf chassis.

Well, you're right about the wheelbase not being the same as the Golf, because it's not. But you're wrong about the wheelbase matching the Polo.

The wheelbase of the New Compact Coupe is 75mm longer than the Golf.

Wow! Looks can be deceiving! I hadn't seen any official press release with measurements on it yet, so 75mm larger wheelbase thant he Golf is a surprise. It's starting to get a bit much to be calling it a compact coupe they if it's getting that much bigger than the Golf! hehe

        Thanks Lima

I can't believe this is on the second page of the forums already with so little discussion. What a fantastic looking vehicle, reading an article on carsales last night stated the following by Dr Ulrich Hackenberg, Project cheif. "Hackenberg also confirmed the small coupe would be offered for sale in Australia if and when production commences"

That'll be what my golf gets traded in on for sure, whether its a look a like 4 door jetta or this coupe, I'm very impressed. VW have really set a new standard with this car, not only does it still have it sophisticated, quality looks and VW DNA, but it also looks a lot more new age in design without looking ugly.

Hopefully they still offer twin charge engine with this car as I'm addicted to it.

                Stoney!

Appears that they have revamped the Jetta for a 'mid-life' makeover before the mkVI hits the shores.

Standard parking sensors (front and rear optical) and a different instrument cluster makes the car even better value I'd say.

Hmm - I'm pretty sure that Wheels are very late to the game with that news article! I know it's only published today, but I swear we've known this since at least October or even earlier!

Hehe fair enough then! I hope that you intend to get those two piece BBS rims in black with the red stripe, as per the APR GTI you have in your sig! That is one hot GTI

I love the fullsize wallpaper of that car

Yeah pretty sweet looking setup they've got running there, I can only hope and pray that the treasury allows that level of acquisition...

Yeah interesting that one is though, it's the 90 TSI's Turbo only 1.4 ramped up to 110kw with a modest 20kw electric motor, could still quite possibly have a supercharging effect on the engine too.

                                Stoney!
