Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Noob wanting to purchase a 2011 118TSI OR 2013 90TSI Golf as first car

New to VW and this forum, you guys are awesome!

Suggestions or pointers which model I should go for?

The rear camera feature for newer cars have grown into me haha or shall I purchase a double din head unit for the 2011 model?

    Any advice is welcome

    Cheers,
    Ajo

      Wow thanks for that tigger73!

Wouldn't want the possibility of that happening

I hope a test drive in the 90TSI feels perfect for my liking!

No problems. Much smarter to ask the question up front than to buy the car and come on here looking for help with a blown engine.

So you're in front of all those unfortunate people on the 118TSI thread.

Yes agree 100%. If you want a reliable car then go for the manual transmission. I'd only recommend the 6 speed DSG in the GTI/diesel models otherwise go manual transmission for a car that's out of warranty.
