Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    G'day everyone,

Avid reader of this and other VW related forums. Looking to purchase my golf soon and will have some questions to ask.

22 year old male from Melbourne coming from a 2003 TL VRX Magna. Drove a mates 103tdi diesel to Adelaide and was instantly hooked.

Looking forward to no longer parking a bus whilst enjoying the awesome hatch fuel economy.

Love the support and community of this forum!

Yeah i had untill recently a 103 tdi mark 6 its a good car (7.5 even better lol)

If you are looking at a diesel with the 6 speed wet clutch dsg make sure its been serviced every 60k if nothing in service logs steer clear
Also the tdi needs a timing belt change at 105k which combined with a service is usually around the 1k mark so keep a eye on that if the car your looking for is near that mark
Apart from that i have had nothing go wrong with my mark 6 tdi (still in family now my daughters car 147k and still going)
Welcome to the forums and hopefully a new vw owner
