Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • My first watercooled VW

    Hello all,
I just purchased my first watercooled VW a 1.6L 99 Golf which i didn't buy it for the power obviously lol. My previous cars include a few single/twin turbo Subarus, Bmw, turbo Mazda and this was my favorite.....

A VW type 3 which me and my brother built up from the shell.

At the moment we are building a 58 bug and for power a Subaru Brumby with a wrx driveline. Would love another type 3 but they are just getting so hard to find.

Ok moving on, the Golf will be getting a few mods(mostly cosmetic and stereo) to make it a nice daily. When i lower it in the next few days i put some pictures up, at the moment it just looks like a stock Gold/Yellow golf.

    Sorry for the long intro
    Cheers
    Steven

Welcome aboard Steven. They type 3 would have to be my favorite air cooled. The brumby sounds interesting to. I remember seeing one with a WRX motor in it years ago doing 4 wheel burnouts at a burnout comp. Pretty impressive!
