Live in Brisbane so I am thinking APR will be the way to go, firstly because of the functions and also location. But I will not be making a rushed decision.
Welcome Meko, I also have an '06 Polo GTI. Mine has the APR V2 chip and it's amazing to say the least. I think your decision should be a rushed one . Keep in mind that you can have a 6hr free trial from APR, so maybe have a look into that as well. Guy (from APR) is a frequent member of this site so shoot him any questions you may have. He's very friendly to deal will.

Why don't you check out the 'Queensland Events' section and have a look at the details for the Gold Coast get-together we have coming up shortly. You should come along and meet a few of us there. It should be a good turn-out.

Most importantly... enjoy your time here!

        Hi
I just picked up my Graphite Blue Golf GTI V Pirelli. My first VW, no surprise, I love. I swear I have the cleanest car in my street, I fuss over it so much. I'm in Kelly Country, Glenrowan, so its mostly highway kms for me, not much traffic, but have to watch out for roos. Look forward to reading through this forum, theres lots of good stuff to check out.

        Cheers David

                Greetings all.

Been lurking on the forum and thought I should introduce myself. I don't have a VW yet, but am interested in the Tiguan. Great info here for research and ask questions.

Have driven the Mk V GTI a couple of times and absolutely loved it! Can't wait for the Mk VI GTI to hit down under.

                  Hi all,
About to pick up my silver 08 Golf DSG Gti this week, have been lusting after one for a few years now and am absolutely gagging! Doing the salary sacrifice (no gst) saw me lock in for $31800 with ipod adpt, mats, weather shields and bonnet protector with 2 yrs warranty still left to run, gotta love this recession!

Prev owned mk1 (wrote it off), mk2 (stolen 2 days out of insurance) in my youth and mk4 gti few years back so always been a dub man at heart, it's great to be back!!

                  Cheers and happy driving all!

                    New to VWwatercooled - R32!

                    Hi all
I have a 2.5 yr old R32 which I have had since new - I have posted pics on the MK5 pics thread.

I have been frequenting http://www.r32oc.com/ for a long time and for some reason did not know about this forum.

My car rocks and still makes me smile almost every morning when I hear its throaty cough as I chug down the road.

26,000 KM - 4 new tyres, service every year..all in going well.

Couple of mods as I have the front grill sprayed black and added the Audi S6 Daylight running lights to the grille.

Having this car has made me VW thru and thru (unless i got an Audi RS4 wagon) though Audi and VW are related!!

Good to have so many VDubbers around and would love to be involved in a HUGE Golf Meet up in Sydney some time..

                    Cheers

                      Thank you for the welcome.

It is a Mark V GTI. To refer to a Polo GTI simply as a "GTI" would be a bit misleading, wouldn't it?

Anyway, I wrote about what I think of the GTI here:

                        new here

Hi All, New to the forum...have ordered a V6 Highline and as a reward, the dealer has given me a 12 to 16 week wait. Pearl black paint with black leather. Thinking about after market wheels as the factory ones look average.

                        Cheers V6Passat

                          My car

                          Hey there,

Very long and boring story..i wont bother with too many details.

I have or had a lovely working VW Golf GTI 1991 MK2. An (ex) friend drove up the great ocean road and (my mechanic said) ruined the engine because it overheated. I don’t really know much more about whats wrong except that it needs a new engine.

I had it towed back to Melbourne because i wasn't sure what to do. He conveniently left town and went back to England while i've been unsure what to do for months now.

I was about to list it on ebay hoping to get a few hundred dollars for parts but then i was a bit sad.

I've only had it for 4 years and when i started looking for new cars to buy nothing really compares to it. I love that car and i know it's old and maybe not as great as i think it is..but does anyone think it would be worthwhile putting a new engine in it and what roughly would i expect to pay for an engine and labour?

I was expecting to pay about $5000 for a second hand car so I just thought maybe..just maybe I could get it rebuilt for that much?

I hope its ok to ask this on the website i know there are lots of rules so i hope i'm not breaking any!

Really appreciate any words of encouragement as I’m a bit lost without my car.

                            Hi & welcome,

You might want to copy most of your tale of troubles into the Mk2 section, I'm sure some of the guys will jump in with advise.
