Finally ordered Golf R

Hi All,

After researching for the last few months my next car (shifting from a MY06/7 WRX) and taking a range of cars for drives etc.. I finally signed today for Golf R. I decided I couldn't be bothered waiting until October//November for the 7.5, so found a Nov manufactured mk7 with sunroof and DSG and went with that.

With thousands spent on the WRX and a stack of fun with it, the urge to stick to soft mods like intake and OBD mods is strong (I said this about the last car, and the car before - maybe this time I will resist for engine builds and turbo upgrades).

Can't wait for the 10 or so days until delivery.

Congratulations, i also made the switch from my Evo8 (200awkw) to my manual Golf R (mk7) the golf is very daily-able, and is very clinical when drive mode [comfort] is selected, pop it into Race mode, and the car changes completely. i opted for an APR tune, as months and months of research pointed me in that way, with their results and accreditations, partnership with VW dealers in USA. my golf currently with the mods throws down 220+ awkw, and has an amazing power band. the torque is smooth, and i have just clicked over 57,000ks since brand new! And car was delivered today. I cannot go on more about how happy I am with the car. Bring on a 1000km run-in!

sounds good! there are some good deals around for the mk7 at the moment, hope you got a good price.

Got a bit over $5K off the price.. And a OK trade-in price on the WRX which ended up being irrelevant as I sold it the night before picking up the R.

I was stoked to find window/roof close with the remote lol.
