Hey guys, any one around able to help out with a throttle body alignment for a 2009 Jetta 147?
Been getting angle sensor error message pop up ever since I had battery related issues.
Disconnected the battery due to massive corrosion build up frequently, (just replaced positive terminal cable, hoping to fix that issue)
Still getting same code keep popping up, really annoying and not much fun!
I've read that anytime the throttle body is removed or the power is cut an alignment needs to be done.
My hand held scanner doesn't offer this service, by any chance is there someone willing to try to help me out to see if his will fix my problems ..? Please!
Potentially a lot cheaper then buying a whole new throttlebody or pedal assembly. And new scanner etc.
Really appreciate any assistance.

Shouldn't need to do a TB alignment on these, as far as I'm aware.

As for the steering fault light, have you driven the car yet? It should clear once you get over 20km/h.

im actually getting error code :G188, angle sensor for throttle.
it only started when the car almost had a dead battery and barely started around a month ago.
its not predictable at all either, sometimes when the car hasn't been driver for a the whole night, still get it.
other times when I'm idling at a set of traffic lights, and sometimes when I'm sitting on the motorway.
heat/ cold temps don't seem to be an influence. Driving to hard or to soft don't seem to matter.
And was triggered after battery issue. The battery tested fine, under load also.
The positive terminal connector has corrosive build up that even once cleaned with hot water and sand paper still came back after a couple of days!
I changed the cable last night with crossed fingers. No good.
i was hoping that it was a simple realignment of the throttle body that was required, which I read via a link on Google.
guess I'd prefer to eliminate the simpler possible concerns first!
Is there actually an angle sensor on the throttle body? Or is the angle sensor on the accelerator pedal..?
im not sure if a throttlebody is required. Or the acc. Pedal assembly is required.
could even be the cable from the acc pedal to the ecu or throttle body to.. Where ever it connects!

Also, the steering light went away after reversing out of the driveway. Happy days
But this angle sensor g188 is haunting me! The car goes into EPC limp mode and becomes over the top lazy!
Im open to suggestions tho. I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting as many plugs as I could find around the tb.
But between seeing how much of a mission the tb is to take off and reading that I will need to realign it after taking it off I've been a little weary of taking it off..

What's the actual fault code for the throttle problem?

G188 is just a part code to help identify it in the workshop manual.

It makes reference to a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB), where they have found an issue with the connector plug on the throttle body in some cases. It might be worth unplugging it, and checking for corrosion on the terminals for both the throttle body and the plug itself, and maybe using a small pick to try and adjust the femal terminals on the plug, so they're a tighter fit. Try it out, clear the code, and see how it goes.

Awesome! Thank you. Any idea where I may find a picture of the connections of the throttle body itself online anywhere, I haven't been very successful in locating one myself. I'd prefer to make sure I'm paying attn to the correct plug and not something unrelated!

There's only one connector on the throttle body, which is located on the front side of the motor.
