Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • NSW 2001 Manual V6 Bora

    Hi All.

    Been a viewer of the Site for many years now, finally decided to register!

    Recently purchased a 2001 Bora. With the 20v VR6 Motor, 4motion and an awesome 6speed box, I'm loving it!

    Plans for this beast are as follows;

    - Engine conversion to either an R32 or R36 motor, depending on whichever I can source first. A rebuild will also be undertaken to prepare for future upgrades.
    - After the conversion is complete, supporting performance upgrades will be installed to get the car ready for a turbo.
    As of yet I am still deciding on either two smaller twins or a single larger turbo. Any advice is strongly appreciated.
    Obviously there will be alot more, which I havent delved into details yet, but I hope people enjoy following this project.

    Anyone with suggestions, experience with a similar build, or even able to source a donor motor (or car) I'd appreciate hearing from you!

    Cheers
Working...
