Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • NSW new Tiguan

Hi All - i've been following the forums for a little while now and thought I should join up as a member! The input and advice on here seems well thought out and considered. Certainly helped with a new purchase.

Currently drive a Mk6 GTI 2010 MY11 and has been a great car for my wife and I. However, there's a new addition to the family on the way so have looked for something a bit bigger and gone with placing an order for the new Tiguan 162 TSI Highline. Really like the engine in the GTI so hoping for a similar feel with the Tiguan and see how the 4Motion goes.

Looking forward to it arriving (although not sure how i'll go with the wait till March!) and sharing experiences of the car with others on here.

    Cheers
    Ben

Welcome and congratulations on the new arrival - oh and the new baby as well

Tiguan uses the same motor as the GTI as well as the heavy duty DSG which should be a good combination.

I know a lot of people really loved their Mk6 GTIs and were sorry to see them go.

Did you order the R-line pack or just getting the stock Highline?

Look forward to seeing some pics once you take delivery.

      Thanks for the welcome!

I've gone for the R-line package and the Driver Assist package. I liked the look of the body styling for the r-line, made the car look more premium and gave it a bit of an edge. Will definitely take some pics and upload once we pick up. Shame we have to wait so long!

Nice - just saw your spec in your other post

I think if you're going to get the Highline then you may as well stretch to include the R-line as it really adds the finishing touch to the car.
