Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • New with 2010 T5 :)

    Hi Folks,

Good to be here, it's lonely out there sometimes! I have a 2010 T5 SWB panel van. Basic clean white ex-commercial with side window, manual six speed. Have previously owned two vans, other brands, and this VW is by far my favourite. Great drive, goes well.

I live up in the Blue Mountains, near Sydney, NSW. Mum recently passed away, the last one to go, and working on the van has kept my mind occupied. It's used for everything, from work to leisure.

I enjoy getting out, camping, and so have built an innovative modular system of plywood sections that installs in the van and that can be easily removed. Its a Kombinational in a way. 90% complete, and I am yet to see a similar layout.

Yesterday I went ahead and touched some wiring behind the headunit, so now cannot open the tail door and more! Hence the catalyst for joining here, after browsing many pages. When I do get it open I'll be happy to post some photos or share my ideas for inspiration, as others have before.

Working...
