Hi All,
Recently bought a MY12 Bluemotion Passat Wagon and love the car. I have not figured out if it is a B7 or B6 so if someone could help me figure out how that works I would be grateful.
But it has not been without its issues. Since the start of Feb I have had the ECU cable replaced as it was faulty and the car would shut off and have a Stability ERR. Also one of the bolts the hold that hold the open/close motor to the rear door hinge sheared Dealer came to the table with the ECU cable but it took a week to agree. I had do the bolt myself, took about an hour as I had to remove the hinge to get the sheared bolt out first. I have replaced the other side for good measure.
I am now look at installing a reversing camera and towbar.
Could anyone tell me if there is a prep cable in place like in this post? http://www.vwwatercooled.com/forums/...rep-81962.html
I have also had a good look at PranK's post here http://www.vwwatercooled.com/forums/...red-96620.html There was not much info on the cableing. I was want to use genuine VW wiring as I have reversing sensors and plan on adding a camera. Although the Kit metioned here http://www.vwwatercooled.com/forums/...es-113091.html is also appling as it supports LED traliers
I would like to do all this on the cheap so if any has secondhand parts please let me know.
So that's me and my plans for the car will post some pictures later (after a good wash).
