QLD Gday, mk5 Jetta - Brisbane

Hi guys, just picked up my first vw, a 2006 mk5 jetta tsi.

Unfortunately today as I was driving home my drivers side window stopped working and won't wind up. Have read that it's common for the wiring in the door jam to fray and cause the window not to work, however if anyone has experienced anything similar feel free to shed some light!

I had same issue with the window.
I thought the it was the wiring, pulled it apart and wires were fine.
I found it only got stuck if it went all the way down.
I cleaned the runners and lubed them a little. Also jambed a bit of fabric under the bottom stop as it looked worn. I wanted the window to not get too far down.
It was a 2hr job, the outer door skin has to come off, and it is a bit scary the first time.

Has been working fine for months now.

If you can get any grip on the window try to pull it up while pressing the up button.

Window started working again! Out of the blue [emoji23]

Going to get some contact cleaner and clean the points on the switches, have a feeling the last owner went a little OTT on the armourall
