Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    1974 B1 Passat

    Hey Guys
    I am the proud owner of a 1974 B1 Passat with about 280,000km. It cost me a crippling $1 back in 2011 and has been running (relatively) smoothly ever since. Up until now I have been having professional services done but would like to learn how to do them myself, hopefully someone can give me a few pointers!

    Hi Scott, I'm fairly new to B1 ownership too but have found the VWdasher forum very helpfull - they have a workshop manual you can download as well. Would also be worth grabbing a gregorys/scientific publications workshop manual as well - you can find them on ebay/gumtree usually for $10-20.
