Glad to be part of the VW forum! I'm presently driving an Accord Euro (which belongs to my better half) so I will be getting a Golf GTI for myself. Probably a Mk V, or a Mk VI if the budget can stretch that far. I had a MX5 NC2 PRHT (manual of course) that was a great car but just too small, and so that leads to a GTI - similar zip and fun but more practical. I came across your forum while doing my research on the GTI - you have a wealth of useful information. Would it be accurate to say that the VW might require a fair bit more maintenance than what I'm used to with the Mazda - which was pretty well bullet proof?
