Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • VIC New Owner - First VW

    Hi to the group,

After my Land Rover Freelander reached 230,000 klms and started the descent into more and more problems, I decided to upgrade and found a great Tiguan on Carsales. Only had it a couple of weeks and couldn't be happier. It's such a lovely car, 5 years old and like new. The colour was noted as Mountain Grey, is this a stock colour? I saw a list of colours somewhere and this didn't appear.

The main reason for my post is that I have a RNS-510 unit with the map version of 8035. Can anyone tell me how old this is? Apparently the most recent version is 8207. If my version is too old then I want to upgrade. I've seen discs for sale at Euro Car Upgrades (jku.com.au) for $49 and Camera data for $35. I was used to a Tom Tom that included cameras so I'm keen to have that on my system. Any help would be appreciated.

    Cheers, Ray

PS. Just for the record, I'm restoring a 1957 Rover P4 90 and am a member of a couple of Rover car clubs.
