  • NSW Hi all, new Tiguan onwer.

Recently bought the Tiguan My16 132 tsi 7speed dsg and that is really good car. Actually i like Golf before bought tiguan, but my wife like a suv. So combine our wishes the tiguan is very suitable for us.

I have owned my tiguan for 3 weeks and 1000 km, i found the the the 7 dsg was not good sometimes. the problem is that the dsg always keep the high gear level with a lower speed, due to this the sound from the inside of the car is not comfortable for my ear. its normal or i have to back to dealer to check?

However the 7 dsg is good for the consumption efficiency, and tiguan is a good car for young couple.

I am a Chinese owner, sorry for the language. Thanks a lot.

    Hi and welcome!!!

The standard programming of the DSG is to drive in the highest gear (lowest RPM) to be as efficient as possible.

Is this an engine/exhaust note you're hearing? Or tyre noise?

You can move to manual mode and select the lower gear to see if this changes anything.

I would take it back to the dealer if you're not 100%happy. At least let them see if it is "normal".

      Thanks a lot Tigger.
I try to move to manual mode and the noise was gone with the higher RPM.
I think the noise come from the engine not the tyre. and i ask the dealer and they said this problem is normal and the reason is from the dsg and space of tiguan.

maybe i am just too sensitive i have to accept the turbo vehicle.
anyway thanks again and very happy to join this family.

Yes sounds like its engine/transmission related. Not sure there is a simple fix - my wife likes to crank up the music

Maybe it is good solution for that. is there has some Tigguan meetings or events which like let owners get together?
          Thanks for you suggestion.
