  • New Member: Skoda Octavia RS

    Hi all,

I am the new owner of a 2007 Skoda Octavia RS. I am an active member of SAU (I have a Stagea that I've put a lot of work into), and bought the Skoda as my daily daily driver.

As anyone who's been bitten by the bug will understand, I had the car for about 2 days before I started ordering parts and looking at how I can improve what is a surprisingly good package for the price.

I'm hoping to end up with a practical and quick car that is mildly modified.

    I look forward to contributing!

Good luck keeping it mildly modified [emoji1]

I suggest deciding the end point and work towards that. More than likely you'll want to get a tune at some stage. If you're going to modify the exhaust you're best off doing this first (3" DP) otherwise for most tuners you will end up paying for the tune twice.

I look forward to seeing where you go with it.

Yeah: I'm well versed in getting way out of hand with mods: the weekend car is a never ending strain in my wallet and sanity.

At this stage mods are mostly cosmetic and handling. The plan is to upgrade as things wear out: when brakes are due, I'll go better... When clutch is due, I'll upgrade and consider a tune.

At the end of the day, it's a relatively cheap car (bought for under $10k), and I do big km for work, so it has to practical...
