Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Hey I'm new to VW forums but found some good threads on here when researching my purchase. I've bought a Tiguan 2.0L 132tsi MY12 in pimped out black. Soon to be cruisin the streets of Perth. We also have a 2010 Polo 1.2L turbo 77tsi. Also in Black. That's been a great little car, apart from a cpu error early on that caused it to lose all power. It certainly fangs when i drive it in sport mode. I'm looking forward to getting my Tiguan in the next week and seeing how it handles before looking at APR tuning for power and the DSG. Will have to pace myself on the extras, i'm not used to having car i could spend money on. But it's tempting. Especially when my boss/mate has an Audi TT RS with custom exhaust etc. He's already showing me the tuning kits online, i dont even have it yet! cheers

    Congrats on the purchase!

Is that the 6 speed auto or DSG that you bought? Only reason I ask is that there was a mix of both around this time in the 132TSI.

Thanks Tigger73. It's the 7 speed DSG from October 2011, i was shown the make/compliance plates. I bought this one over a 2010 6spd 147 which seemed very powerful but it wasn't as smooth to cruise around in. So knowing the efficiency of this gear box and the fact that I can tune it to 147 and beyond if i want to, i thought it was better to go for the newer car. Plus this one looks the boss. The Tiguan was the first car to stand out for me while test driving after a few other choices. I dont know why i didnt think of it before.
