Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    Hey people,

My name is John. I'm 31 years old. I am a carpenter and work in the commercial sector. I'm not really a rev head, never really had a big passion for cars, but for the last few months I've had to drive past a Golf R parked up the road from me and everytime I get near it I'd slow down, sometimes stop and just admire it. Basically I got sick of day dreaming about it and the mrs needed a new car (We started at the Polo GTI but slowly convinced ourselves we needed the R)

This afternoon I ordered a Golf R and tonight I wondered if there is a community out there that talks about the cars because right now thats all I want to do. I've probably watched every video thats been posted online to do with the car and I'm just bloody excited. Part of finding this forum boils down to the fact that I'm a bit of a n00b when it comes to cars and I'd love to learn more about the first performance car I'll own so I know how best to treat her and look after her. So I hope to just browse the site and basically just stalk convos to learn as much as I can.

    Cheers for reading,

    John.

Thanks guys. 2 months wait now and it's already killing me. These days we all expect to have stuff readily available to us so 2 months wait for a car is agonising but it'll be worth it. I've already learnt a bit from perusing this forum so hope to be all up to speed about the car before I get my hands on it.
