Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Hi All, I bought a 2008 Passat V6 3.2L wagon (55k km driven) in early July, encouraged by my friend who drives now R36 after Polo GTI. He also told me about this forum.

This is my first VW car. After a month of driving this car I feel that paddle shifter on the steering wheel will be a nice upgrade to enjoy this car. Now I understand why my friend had encouraged me to go for R36 or V6 Highline with paddle shifter. I find using stick to change gear bit distracting and sometime inconvenient when I want to change the gear quickly to gain power instantly . Does anyone know whether it is possible to have the paddle shifter in my car and if yes where? Want to have satellite navigation and reverse camera as well but paddle shifter is my first priority.

I live in south eastern suburb of Melbourne. So mechanics or places in or near Melbourne would be good for me.

    Thanks.
