Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Hi. Question about launch control. I have a vw scirocco r and was told to turn off tcs and put in sport shift then hold down the break pedal and the accelerator to the floor then let go of the break to launch. Now thats all good and well. But when i take my foot off the break pedal to take off there about .5s to around 1s delay before the car actually launches. Am i doing somthing wrong?

    Think that's the turbo lag.

The engine should be bouncing off the launch limiter at ~3,000RPM. Take-up should be rapid once you get traction....

Are you sure you're not just spinning the wheels

Yeah it sits up around just over 3000rpm. But its not rapid launch theres a slight delay maybe .5s of a delay then i launch. Haha yeah when it finally does take off the wheels spin so not confusing the two..

Yes its natural all dsgs do it. Its just dsg lag not turbo lag.
