I have had a 99 T4 2.5 LWB for about 8 years now, very happy with it as a work and travel vehicle.
A few years ago I did a camper fitout in it and did a 20000k trip around the country.
The fitout is all modular/removable so I can go full camper / half work / empty.
Also has extra batteries, solar, fridge, slide-out kitchen etc.
I've been reading the forums every now and again, thanks for letting me access the hive mind, I should have signed up years ago
I'm thinking of doing a few mods/upgrades to the van so will be hitting you up for advice.
