Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

A few months ago I purchased a 06/2004 (MY05) Bora V5 sport. Shadow blue, 170K with the 5sp tiptronic auto. It is the last of the Mk4's so has the climate control, charcoal sports seats, 17" factory rims, sporty suspension (not lowered but slightly firmer springs and shocks) and woodgrain trim.

About 8 years ago I owned a 2003 5sp Golf 2L. Loved the car but had to sell it when my daughter was born due to lack of boot space. At least the Bora has a large boot so when I spotted it I had to buy it.

Got it for a good price as the heater core had been bypassed and needed to be replaced. A friend and I replaced it ourselves so I saved a heap on labour as it was a very labour intensive job.

The car is so much more fun to drive than my old TJ magna that thing handled like a boat) and easier to park too.

I look forward talking fellow VW enthusiasts
