Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • NZ MK5 .:R32 owner

Hi everyone. My name is Arno. I live in Auckland, NZ and I'm on my second VW.

My first VW was a mk4 GTi with the basic scene kid mods. Hence the rookie mistake. But alas I have fallen in love and I've had my R for over 2 1/2 years.

She is a 2007 MK5 .:R32 Manual. Black magic. APR test pipe tune to help with Cat delete. Haven't really done a lot to her. She is sitting on some H&R Race springs using the factory shocks and I am currently running 18x9 et52 Mercedes ML55 amg wheels.

List of of things to fix.... AC, stripped sump plug and a couple bushes here and there.

Future mods will be LED tails and a couple other cosmetic bits.
Once I figure out how to post a couple photos I will do so.

    Thanks for reading

        Hey mate,

I have been thinking of doing a Cat Delete on my Mk5 R32. Wondering about ur experiences, I have already got an APR Test Pipe tune so the o2 sensors wont be an issue. I have a stock exhaust with a hotdog resonator in place of the stock resonator. Im just wondering if you feel any difference in power delivery, sound, pops and burbles etc after you did the cat delete

        thanks

Love the R32s, gave it some serious thought before settling on the Octavia RS!
