Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Coming up on GTI #3

Hi VW Watercooled. I joined up to check out the wheel fitments thread for the MkVII because I have a 2015 GTI S performance package with lighting on order (4-door, Reflex Silver, 6-speed manual). I started with a 2002 GTI 1.8T Tiptronic (Indigo Blue Pearl over beige leather) and have been rocking my 2004 GTI 1.8T 5-speed since new (Silverstone Gray over black cloth). I've tweaked the chassis on it just the way I like it, it will be hard to see it go as it's been a wonderful car for 11 years, but I'm looking forward to something new as well.

    Welcome to VWW.

Hopefully #3 serves you as well as #2! Glad the wheel thread is helping out - feel free to contribute your ideas or eventual wheel package.

It did help a lot! I think it helped me settle pretty well on the 18x8" OZ Leggera HLT in gray. Think that would look super sharp on a silver car with just a touch of lowering (looking to do the H&R OE Sport spring again, like I did on my MkIV...perfect lowering for me. Subtly better stance than stock without looking modified) and are one of the few 18" wheels on the MkVII that really works with the car IMO. So thanks for that

That will be the perfect look IMO although it have an obvious bias.

Geez if you were in Aus I'd have a set ready to go for you.
