Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • QLD G'day

    Hey everyone

The name is Toby, I'm an 18 year old 1st year apprentice chef who currently owns a 2011 1.4L Polo GTI. It's my second car and what I hope to be a starting ground for the next car.. a golf.

My budget (15k) didn't allow for me to get one so I got the next best thing. I'm not too car savvy in terms of numbers and the like. I do have a passion for them though, one I hope to develop and understand better.

In terms of mods? I currently have none. Do I want some? Yes. Not sure what mods are the best to start off with but I am open to any idea.

    Cheers!

      Welcome to the forums Toby.
Hope we can get you out to some of our events.

The Polo GTI is a pretty cracking car.

Welcome mate, you've done pretty well to get one with a budget of 15k, most I've seen are a good chunk more then that. Check out the 6R section for future mods you may want, there's plenty to do, just depends on what road you want to go down with them

Yea he was asking 18k. It has a few scuff marks on the rims but that's no bother, going to change them anyway. Loving it so far, definitely converted me to a vw driver!
