G'day all,
I actually own a 74 Kombi Camper which I'm doing up, and yes I do realise this is the "VWwatercooled" forum and the bus is Air cooled. The main reason for joining is my brother has just bought an 09 Polo GTI, which for the moment is in very good condition. Unfortunately his mechanical skills are limited to hitting it with a hammer, fixing it with a cable tie or sicking it with Blutac. So being mechanicly minded and having built my share of Air Cooled VW's and various Toyota's and Fords I'm going to be as usualy the first port of call when ever anything happens to his new (to him) car. from what i've read recently on here the 9N polo GTI is a reasonably user friendly car to work on, especially compared to some of his previous cars. (Citroen 2400 CX Palas. GOD DAMN FRENCHY SURRENDER MONKEY ENGINEERING!!!!!) So i've mainy joined just to read up a bit on the common problems, fixes, upgrades etc...
