Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • QLD Jetta TSI Owner 2008 Model - VW Service Technician in QLD anyone can recommed?

    Hi Guys,

Just wanted to introduce myself to this Forum, I'm originally from VIC but now live up in QLD, bit warmer up here!
I own a 2008 Model TSI Jetta, same engine and gearbox config as a GTI Model of the same vintage. Only mod is an APR Stage 1 upgrade I had done at VolksPower and still have the same mod in as of today, Big difference against the stock 147KW, think its 188KW now at about 411nm certainly feel the difference!

Anyway I'm in a transition of buying a 2008 Model GTI Steering Wheel for which I'm looking if this can be converted so I can use the Paddle Shifts, Stock TSI and TDI I believe Jetta's missed out on the Paddle Shifts but believe a simple mod in changing to the GTI 2008 Steering Wheel (which has Paddles) provides the Jetta with Paddle Shift Option. I do have the DSG Box.

Anyone in QLD that could be recommended to the changeover of steering wheels? I think I saw a post a while ago that this company could perform the Mod, is it possible?

    Cheers,
    Pete.

If you buy a wheel with paddles, it is just a computer job, 5 minutes. I am sure someone on the forums will sort you out, enjoy!
