Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • 9N Tdi Polo Dodgy Window.. and other problems..

    Hi

I have some problems with my ’07 9n Tdi Polo. The main issue is to do with the front passenger window. It doesn’t move from either switch, there is no noise at all. I have checked the wires inside the boots in both a pillars. I’ve heard it could be a regulator issue, but this is way beyond my capabilities and I am scared of taking it to the dealer for fear of being charged like a wounded bull. Has anyone got any tips?

    The other scary problems are:

Power steering light coming on and P/S cutting out.

On startup, a loud beep combined with flashing dash lights and the car cutting out.

    Is this all normal?

Not bad for a well serviced car with less than 80,000 k on it!

you sure its not an oil light ??
meaning your oil is sludge and needs changing seriously and rinsing the complete sump
if the engine is rattly and louder than normal the oil is not getting thru.. I have seen the oil turn to Jelly!!

check the fuse re window also
