Potential Golf R owner - long time VW owner

Long time VW owner and fan, but currently looking at getting either the VI or the VII Golf R as an upgrade from my runabout 03' 2litre.
Also have a 132TSI Tiguan.

Welcome aboard, I was out with one of my friends a couple of days ago (I was the back seat driver ) on a test drive of a white VII R which was fully loaded with all the new gizmos, DSG etc ..... awesome motor car, very roomy in the back, great sound track from the four pipes. Make sure you get a test drive of one of these. Did I mention that it has adequate acceleration? The guy testing the R has a Maloo and was impressed.

Thanks for the feedback, but I prefer a no-options, manual. Options add mass which is something you don't need in a sports car and I also can't stand semi-auto type transmissions - find they lack involvement, driver involvement.
