  • 06 Golf TDi trendline (pov pack) driving me spare.. :)

my names Chris, 6 months ago I bought a 2006/07 tdi trendline as a daily work hack, I am currently trying to put cruise control in as that is really the only thing I wish I had of paid more attention to when I bought the car (lowline display without mfsw). I have the stalk, a micro-can cable and upgraded steering control module, when I plug the new steering control module in it reads the horn as being activated, after a couple of seconds the ecu stops the horn and logs a short to ground fault for the horn. once I configure the steering wheel control module for no onboard computer with ccs and enable the engine coding for ccs the cruise works fine but the horn is still activated, if I plug in the old steering module the horn is fine so I have complete confidence it is a coding issue. if I leave it as it is the horn goes off every time I turn the key to "on". if anyone could direct me to where I can change/check this it would great as I am really stuck.

BTW, im not new to ECUs or engine management tuning but this vcds canbus coding is still very new to me.

The horn going off sounds like a bent pin...done it myself. Also you have to go into engine ecu and "activate cruise control" to make it work...
