Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • QLD First Time VW Owner - MY15 Tig

Needed to replace my wifes Mazda 6 wagon and she wanted an SUV.
Since we already have a TD Landcruiser, there was no need for any real size, so with the release of the MY15 Tiguan we ordered and just received this week a nice white 130TD. No options just straight out of the box. Would have loved leather but not at $4k. Probably change to an Alpine headunit for sat nav as the RNS option was crazy money.

Very happy with the Tig so far. Build quality and finish is good and the DSG seems to work well - no shudders or odd changes - love the "sport" mode change downs personally. No shortage of power either the 130 gets along real nice.

    Welcome to the forums mate.
I got a 125TSI no options and added the RNS510 myself.
You can pick one up for around $1k and the install takes 5-10 minutes tops.

The 130TDI is a pretty good engine in these, unfortunately when i bought they only had the 103 which was a tad sluggish for my likings.

Hope you enjoy the tig prolem free.
