Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    Hi everyone,

I have been stalking the forums for a few weeks while I research my first new car purchase. A MY15 Skoda Superb Elegance Wagon 118 TSI. I am by no means a car person (if it wasn't already apparent). I have owned two (very) second hand cars over the last decade (a 92 Ford Falcon and currently a 98 Holden Commodore) and with a recent promotion decided I need to not only treat myself to a new car, but also get something that is going to get me more than 500km to a tank.

My other considerations included the combination of future family requirements and holiday activities that will both require the kind of space the wagon seems to provide. But I might go into my purchase in more detail in a different thread.

I should point out I don't actually have the car yet but it is on its way.

Anyway, everyone here seems pretty friendly so I'm happy to join the conversation, but I doubt I'll be passing out any sage advice: at least not about cars.

    Tim
