I have a 2000 S3, don't drive it much since it uses more petrol than my Polo. Always a revelation when I do though. Much more refined.

What plans have you got for yours?

Mine has a downpipe, front mount, CAI and KWs

Currently have a badger 5 intake updated PCV system (forge) and some minor cosmetic things.
sigma short shift on the way
looking to get a downpipe and front mount soon could use your advice, finding it hard to get stuff in Australia.
then AP coilovers and probably take it to stage 2 tune...when money is available.

Didn't buy my stuff in Australia but can help you with the tune when the time comes.

Yeah for sure I was looking into the custom code tune and I think that's the way I'll go. as the APR/revo seems more expensive and not as smooth with the power delivery, plus from what I've read the fuel consumption is pretty good too. Just out of interest how much would Stage 1 be, and is there any engine modifications I should do first to handle it?

The idea with Phase 1 is that it is for standard cars. Once you change the downpipe though, to make the most of the extra flow and prevent any cat efficiency codes coming up you need Phase 2. That's the point I would introduce the FMIC to if you are going to.

If you have plans to go Phase 2 in the future, I would encourage you to leapfrog Phase 1. Even with the discount I give for the re-tune, you could nearly buy the downpipe instead.

Phase 1 $799 Phase 2 $899. Upgrade from 1 to 2 is basically done at cost but still close to $500.

Cheers for this Gavin, sounds like I probably will do that. Will hit you up as soon as I have the money and exhaust fitted.

Any Downpipes you'd recommend by the way, or would an exhaust shop know what they were doing?

Also I'd love to check out your S3 some time have a look at the set up/ see how it performs compared to stock.

I have a 42dd TT downpipe on mine. I don't know how a local shop would go about making one. I went with this as it was off the shelf and I knew it would fit well and mate to the std cat back.

I can come to work in the S3 one evening and if you can make it to the airport for 630pm. Happy to take you round the block in it.
