Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • NSW Octavia Wagon RS or Golf wagon

    Hi

Considering a Octavia Rs but the wait for delivery is putting me off. If there was Golf Wagon with the GTI engine that is what I'd go for.

Alternative is the Passat with the bi turbo diesel but that isn't available for ages yet either.... very frustrating

    any other options?

    Cheers

There's some discussion on the Golf R wagon being released next year?

There is but i figured if he can't be bothered waiting for an RS then he wants to know about cars available right now.

to the OP. There are some RS's starting to appear as floor stock. If you're flexible with options you might get something sooner rather than later.

have a look in the Octavia section. There's a thread of "what will you buy instead of Octavia" might be of some help

          I agree 2014 Skoda Octavia RS 162TSI MY15

As far as I can tell if you want a wagon but the of a new golf and you have under 50K to spend, its pretty much the RS. Not to be that guy.

If you have more then 50K, Volvo are doing some nice things these days. Or an Audi RS4

On briskoda, guys use spacers for a wider stance and to fill the guards. We're not allowed spacers in oz, so you would have to get wider rims, with the correct offset to not rub.

Look for one in country OP. They are starting to get available now if you compromise on color and options.

I've got a Highline Tdi Passat wagon, done 100,00, can't fault it. You might get a deal on a v6 Highline (4 motion). That's the one I always wished I had of bought. All of the others just have too much torque to apply only to the front drive. Anyway 0-100 in under 6 seconds. Food for thought
