Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Looking at buying 03 V6 Bora! Any advice or pointers?

    Hi Guys,

I've spent the better part of the last two years looking for a Volkswagen Bora to suit me! I've finally found one with low kms 128k in Melbourne. Really keen to find out what i can do with it and and advice! Thanks in advance!

I'm looking at a MY2003 Bora sport 4-motion. Hoping its been looked after. Basically want a nice first car that doesn't draw to much attention from the men in blue but is still fun to drive! I've got my heart set on a bora cause of the space etc

Hi All, hoping you BORA owners might be able to help.
I have a 2002 Bora 2.8 V6 4Motion at 156,000KM's. Just checking the books and noticed the Toothed Belt & Toothed Belt tensioner for camshaft is to be renewed at 90,000KM's. The service books show that this hasn't been done yet. Then I read online that this model has a chain not a belt. Do you know which is correct?
          Cheers.
