Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • 1st post-keen for advice

Hi guys, quick intro, my names Matt and i have a vw...
I just got a 2010 tiguan 147, and having had a look at the forum earlier, decided i had to join in!
I'm keen to do a few mods to the tiggers, and am more than open to suggestions from those who have more experience than I am, since I haven't done much in the way of mods to my other cars (subaru liberty).
Any mod or other suggestions would be greatly appreciated

    Firstly welcome!

And yes you've come to the right place - we can help you part with some of your cash to personalise your car

Now where to start... I guess first question is your budget and second what end place you want to get to with your car. You can start out with a couple of cosmetic mods or go all-out for a performance sleeper (K04/stage 3 turbo upgrade).

Given your car is out of warranty you don't have these considerations to stop you so you can mod away!

      Firstly, thanks for the welcome
and second, I was thinking mostly minor cosmetics first, LED interior and number plate lights to begin with, possibly other thing too (not sure what) but I'm not sure how much of a hassle it is.
My current budget isn't huge at the moment, but i'll have the tiguan for a long time, so anything is possible (eventually!)

Hey Matt here's one place you can find some nice finishing touches for your Tig: Bold-Spot.com - Tiguan

I've bought door warning lights and chrome window switches from here in the past. Their gear is pretty reasonably priced and there's a number of forum members that have bought from them with good service/reports.

        Happy shopping

Stage 1 remap. There's a whole host of offerings for $700-$1000. Best money you'll ever spend
