Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

    Buying my first VW... 10.5 R36 in blue...

    Well, seems we're heavily restricted to post in the noobie corner before we can do anything else... so here I am!

    I'm in the process of buying a MY10.5 R36 wagon in blue, with sat nav, adjustable suspension and sunroof... just missing the automagic tailgate... I've been hunting around to find out if you can retrofit the power tailgate. Has anyone done this?

    I also saw that people I was low balling are also on here and finally sold their car... good stuff, wish I had more luck with you, but hey... got to live in budget or face the wrath of the other half :j

    It took me 8 months to find the right R36 for me, I remember that.

    As for the auto tailgate, it's doable, but you are looking at some serious disassemble work. Here are some photos from the other forum:
