Hey guys! My name's Sam and I'm a suby guy. I've currently got an MY05 XT Forester with 215kw atw, flat foot shifting and launch control. Anyhow, that won't be of much interest to you guys!
Basically, I'm here for some parts sourcing advice. My girlfriend owns a MKV 2.0 TDI Golf and has unfortunately had a crash. She rear ended a Mazda 3 and her car is a little worse for wear. The smash repairer reckons it's repairable easily, but may be written off due to the cost of new parts (front bar, reo, rad support, radiator, headlights etc etc). It's insured for $13,000 which is nowhere near enough considering how good the car is (one retiree owner, 90,000kms, no scratches exterior or interior, brand new tyres, full logbook history... the thing is mint!) Definitely should have insured it for the maximum! Anyway, what's done is done. I thought I'd jump on here and ask the best place to source parts (second hand, brand new oem, aftermarket... whatever! We'd love to be able to repair it if we can!) I'll jump in the MKV forum or the smash repair forum and make a post, but figured it'd be important to let you guys know why I'm here! I'm based in Wollongong NSW!
