Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • NSW Mark 7 golf R Sydney

    Hey all,

I'm from the lower north shore in Sydney (Chatswood) and in the process of ordering a new Golf R.
I'm going white with a sunroof and leather, the driver assist package didn't interest me as its a pain in the ass when on cruise control on the freeway, you get a car pulling out in front of you which will make the car your driving instantly slow down.

At this stage I haven't ordered it as yet but will be going in this weekend for my negotiating skills and trying to work out a price.

I test drove one last week and didn't like the Dunlop tyres it came with, they haven't got enough grip for what the car can do. I had the Dunlops on my previous evo 9 and could easily fry all 4 when the evo was stock.

Anyway I'll end up putting up a build thread once I get the R, Apr stage 1 tune, exhaust and intake will be on the cards first.

    Cheers,
    Gary
