Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    VIC Hey! im a new guy.

    Hey everyone!

    Ive been checking out this forum a lot over the years, but never had a VW, and I never signed up. Looking to change that! So I thought I might start here!

    Bit about myself. I like to tinker as many of you do. I studied product design at school, but I really love nothing more than to get my hands dirty with a project. I have been pretty hooked on the idea of owning a mk1 golf since I first laid eyes on one!

    Anyway Im glad to be on here, it seems like a great community!

    The mk1 is a nice car and I have fond highschool memories of it, because it's not filled with all the tech and stuff they put in now days you really get a feel for the car and take it in. Also, three slabs can and will fit in the boot

      Ha! Yeah the lack of tech is something im interested in!
      I scored a MK1 the other day. Ill have to start a resto thread sometime soon!
