Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • NSW New Jetta 103TDi 2007

    Hi,
I recently purchased a Jetta 103TDi 2007 from my local dealer, with a central locking problem. Up until recently it has been working fine, however the MFD unit is now constantly showing that my drivers door is open while I'm driving. I took it back down to the dealer, and had the lock replaced which never fixed the issue. It took it back a second time, the mechanics there took apart the drivers door panel pulled out all the wires a replugged them (still never fixed the issue). I took it back a third time, a now my windows have stopped working. The dealer told me that I need to get the window motor changed in order the restore functionality in my windows, and this in turn will fix the central locking issue. Apparently, the vagcom scanner is showing a 'implausible signal' to the window motor, which is causing a circuit break in the door module, which ultimately is causing the MFD unit to constantly show that the drivers door is open while I'm driving (when it is obviously closed).
Any kind of advice will be appreciated. Its been very frustrating and expensive.
