  • NSW Hi All !

    Hello Everyone!

I am in Cammeray, NSW and I have just ordered a VW Passat Alltrack.

I have been reading quite a few posts on this site, particularly about topics relating to the VW diesel engine, additives, CN ratings and the Particulate filter. I am now beginning to wonder if I made a mistake in ordering a diesel.

It seemed like a lot of work was needed to prevent some very expensive repairs. Anyway, with the help of the posts I have read on VWWatercooled, I think I've got it sorted.

Looking forward to many good reads and participating if possible.

    Thank you.

Welcome and don't worry, you'll be fine.

I've had my Alltrack for 16 months now and it's still going strong. I'll be sure to keep you updated if anything changes.

Hi drad81! Thank you for assuring me. I'm looking forward to receiving the new car. Got a call from the dealers today. They said the car is here and will be ready on Monday. Happy Days!

Just drive it, the Diesel engine is rock solid. Most folks who post worrying comments about them are those who don't own one or regret not getting one.

Plus. The DSG is far more worrisome than the TDI.

It was a joke, while the DSG is the weakest link in the vehicles long term reliability I wouldn't worry too much about it. I will say the DSG is not suited to city stop & go driving. If you're doing a lot of free way driving or even cruisy B-roads it's awesome. Again, enjoy the car, the all-track is a nice car, and the 130TDI is absolutely brilliant.
