Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • NSW Hello!

    How's it going fellow enthusiasts!
My name is Max, Im 18 and from NSW, and its mandatory to post here first so yea, here we go.
Ill keep it short and sweet, but ive grown into a family of vw lovers,
family dubs we're currently owning include a 1960 1600 split window under restoration, a 63 1200 and 67 1400 bug also in restoration stage, a 69 1600 convertible bug thats PACKED full of rust hah, and my mothers daily driver, a 73 1300 bug.
    we also have a 76 2L kombi camper, and a 79 2L bay window.
My pride and joy is my 74 single cab kombi ute.
So yea there's a bit of my info.
As for the watercooled dubs, My Daily Driver is a 1996 Mk3 VR6 Colour concept that i have owned for a month,
and coming from what seems a solely aircooled family, i dont know a whole lot about it.
but Im keen to learn more in time about the car and the golf history, and hopefully look forward to modifying it somewhat.
i guess this is a good place to start!
