SA New Golf GTI

Hi All

I've been lurking in the forums since ordering my Golf back in December. I must say I got a lot of useful information over that time. And finally yesterday I went and picked the car up, so it's time to become a forum member.

MY14 Mk7 GTI, manual, night blue, sunroof, xenons, driver assistance. First ever VW, and first ever new car. I've noticed that the blue isn't a very popular colour amongst the forum members here. I know it will be hard to keep it clean, but I really like it.

Thought about the blue long and hard before opting for CSG, but it's sharp and will definitely stand out. I'd be looking at Opticoat or Nanolex treatment to help with your cleaning routine.

I wouldn't recommend anyone in Adelaide other than Hamish from Elite Finish. He's worth the drive.

Congrats on joining the ranks of Mk7 GTI owner! I had a Polo GTI in Shadlow Blue and it look sfantastic, expecially in full sunlight. My mate has one on order in the same colour too.

The drive is the good bit! It's the being stuck over there without a car bit I'm not too excited about. Looking at the map, it looks like it's within walking distance of Marion shops. I could kill some time there.

Thanks. After a long line of white cars I'm happy to have something different. The dealer reckoned he had only sold about 3 night blues, and none of those were GTIs.

Downside is Marion's probably a good hour walk away. Glenelg is probably half an hour. On the upside is you can definitely get a bus to either or Hamish could probably get you to Glenelg.

Hamish is a top bloke. He came and picked myself and the kids up at the railway station when I came back to pick up the car at the end of the day. Dropped it off in the morning and rode home on the pushy but in the afternoon caught the train back to Hove station with the kids.

Thanks to all for the detailing advice. Hamish did the Opticoat for me last week and it looks great.
