Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • QLD Dazvw - Have got dubber syndrome

Hi All, introduction, have 2 Golf's in the stable a MK6 Cabriolet dark blue, DSG, and a new MK7 90TSI pacific blue, DSG. Thats me, looking to solve a couple questions about the MK7 and meet up with like minded enthusiasts..Thankyou

Firs question: Anyone had issue with noise similar to wheel bounce from rear suspension of a MK7 Golf ? Mine is only 3 weeks old but have clocked up 4000+ kms, road trip to NSW and back. At low speed over manholes or broken bitumen I get noise similar to weak shocky and suspension noise ? Anyone had similar ?MK7 Golf,

Have you looked to see if the transit blocks have been removed from the springs?

      Welcome to the forums mate.
I would recommend checking the foam/rubber blocks as per Gav's suggestion.

Also hope we can get you out to some of our events.

Hi guys, checked rear springs for blocks, all clear. Have checked all exhaust rubber mounts, no issues there either. Any other suggestions re why am getting rear suspension / wheel rebound noise over potholes and very rough bitumen? Doesn't occur in front end, just normal impact noise, so isolated to rear !!! Like to solve it here rather than give it a dealer for a day!! Regards Dazvw, das auto ya !!!!
