Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • VIC Hello. Looking for a new VW Tiguan

    hello all
I'm from Melbourne and currently drive a MY04 Golf. It's awesome, but we are thinking to upgrade to a new Tiguan 132TSI in June this year.
Any advice on the following would be appreciated:
    1. Price that people have paid for the car and other optional extras like extended warranties/ RNS510/ other accessories like floor mats
    2. Any dealer suggestions for a good sale/ after-sales service?
thanks in advance, and i look forward to your suggestions and contribute to this forum.
    cheers

Firstly welcome to a future Tiguan owner

Check out the Tiguan pricing thread here: http://www.vwwatercooled.com/forums/...ing-29613.html

It hasn't been updated for a little while... perhaps you can add in what deal you've been able to negotiate when it comes to it.

There are a number of accessories that can be added in after you buy the car (floor mats, sat nav, Bluetooth, 18" wheels, window tint, etc). Though things like paint colour, panoramic glass and bi-xenons are harder and more expensive to fit/change after it leaves the factory.

Not sure on dealers in Melbourne, however if you're not getting looked after be prepared to leave and go to another dealer if you're not happy. There's enough dealers in Melbourne that you have a few options.

Welcome to VWW. I was recently going to negotiate a Tiguan purchase for a friend and it seems that they're pretty much knocking off on roads as a starting point, so there must still be a bit more in it. Can't say I'm a believer in extended warranties but each to their own. Good luck!

Great, thanks guys. Will keep you posted.
Contacted a few dealers already but need to travel overseas for work, so will finalise purchase upon my return.

Signed a contract last weekend for a 132pacific. Should hopefully get delivery within two weeks.
