Hi All,
I'd like to introduce myself and say that this is a fantastic forum! I recently acquired a 2nd hand 1995 Caravelle - 2.5 petrol engine with the ACU engine. I did something silly today on it which I might regret - my reverse light switch went faulty and decided to install a manual switch in the mean time as I await a replacement. In the process, I caused a short circuit - bang, bang, pop pop
I immediately disconnected the battery. I checked all the fuses and they seemed ok. I tried starting the car and it would not start. I disconnected and reconnected the battery and it fired up immediately
. However, I've noticed that the Rev counter is not working. I've also noticed that the engine is now idling a little rough and seems to be running rich. Does the Rev counter get its signal from the Hall sender? Could I have blown the Hall sender?
Any advice will be highly appreciated.
Cheers!
Steve.
